The decision to quit smoking is not an easy one, tobacco and cigarettes are highly addictive and extremely bad for your health. The first days will be hard, but with a plan and some perseverance – you can do it!

Whatever the reason you started smoking in the first place – forget about it, and take the first step on your journey towards a healthier life.

Your body will begin to heal itself within just twelve hours of your last cigarette. Carbon monoxide and nicotine levels in your system will decline rapidly, and your heart and lungs will begin to repair the damage caused by cigarette smoke.

Stop postponing it, right now is a great time to quit smoking – you’ll start to feel the benefits of not smoking before you know it.

Quit while in a good mood

You are more likely to quit when you are in a good mood. To quit smoking is a big decision that requires the right mindset. Being stressed or depressed will definitely not help your cause.

Keep yourself busy

Most people smoke out of boredom, or to kill some time. Yes, it is highly addictive, we agree, but keeping yourself busy will help to distract you. Play a video game, do some gardening, go for a walk, visit (non-smoking) friends, read a book, kick a ball around with your children – anything to keep your mind occupied.
