Africa’s finest classic car event, CBA Africa Concours D’Elegance, is returning on Sunday, September 27th, at Ngong Racecourse Grounds, Nairobi, Kenya.
The classic car event, which is maintained by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club is in its 45th edition, is a gathering of elegance and aptly named Concours d’Elegance with roots stemming from French aristocracy in the 17th Century and horse-drawn carriages. Today, Concours d’Elegance events around the world attract owners of classic and vintage cars, and motorcycles.
Competitors delight in driving their superbly prepared cars down the judging line in front of the crowded Racecourse grand stands. The assessment process starts with a ramp and an inspection of the under-side. This is followed by separate checks on external finish, interiors and engines. In the past, Kenya registered cars and motorcycles have been joined by entries from Australia, England, Germany, Mauritius, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Uganda.
