Is this the future? Belgium introduces text walking lanes

texting and walking

Avid phone users in Belgium have been encouraged to use texting-specific walking lanes.

The European country has created the special walkways to ensure non-stop phone users are not forever bumping into regular pedestrians and clogging up the road.

This situation has caused people to drop their phones on the floor and for them to smash, while congestion on the pavement has also led to arguments and even fistfights.

And early feedback on the lanes has suggested they are proving to be successful among the people of Belgium, who have been making use of the innovation.
