Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond could be set to start their own band.

The former Top Gear host and his colleagues who’ve hinted they too will not be returning to present the BBC show after Clarkson was sacked are said to be musically talented and could turn to forming a trio if they fail to continue with their TV careers.

Top Gear Live stuntman Andrei Burton who revealed Jeremy plays the drums while James plays keyboard and Richard the bass guitar shared: “The lads love letting their hair down by jumping on stage and playing in a band. It’s a good laugh and they’re actually pretty good. Who knows, they could do it professionally if it all goes tits up.”

However, it’s also been reported that James and Richard are in discussions about a “variety” of new shows with the BBC following the broadcaster’s decision to sack their pal Clarkson after he attacked a producer and left him with a split lip.

BBC2 controller Kim Shillinglaw told Radio 4: “Conversations are ongoing with James and Richard about a variety of projects at the BBC and, while those conversations are ongoing, they have to remain private.

“This is a really creatively exciting moment. It’s a good time to look at all aspects of the show.”
