(Relaxnews) – A new online website and community forum has been created specifically for frugal travelers looking for free activities abroad.

Launched as a crowdsourced, user-generated site, Freefortourists.com invites travelers to share their tips on budget-friendly tourist activities and cost-saving ideas while traveling.

Under Paris, for example, visitors are advised that Musee Carnavalet and the Sacred Heart Basilica in Montmartre are free, while New York-bound visitors can participate in free two-hour walking tours that cover Wall Street, Broadway and Battery Park, among other landmarks.

Newshounds and media buffs in Los Angeles may also be interested in free tours of the LA Times building and the newspaper’s printing facility.

Freefortourists.com could be described as a version of FlyerTalk.com, an online travel forum that invites globetrotters and bargain hunters to share deals and travel tips. Only instead of general information, the new site is based on offering free tourist ideas for cash-strapped travelers.
