British star Robbie Williams is to launch a 30-piece clothing collection with retailer Primark, the singer announced on Thursday.

Williams, who rose to fame as a member of pop band Take That, has his own fashion label, Farrell.

The brand was saved from closure in 2013 by entrepreneur Peter Jones, and the collection will be joint produced by Farrell and Primark, a subsidiary of Associated British Food.

“What a great collaboration, let’s have it!” Williams said, adding he was “delighted”.

The autumn-winter collection will be launched in 15 branches of the budget chain, which has shops in several countries in Western Europe.

It comes after US singer Beyonce announced she would launch a sporty clothes collection with retailer Topshop in 2015, offering “clothing, footwear and accessories across dance, fitness and sports”.
