Karl Lagerfeld London Store Opening - Arrivals

Karl Lagerfeld has designed a $175,000 (Sh15.6 million) punch bag.

The creative director of Chanel was commissioned by Louis Vuitton to create the luxury sports equipment for their ‘Celebrating Monogram’ project in honour of the brand’s 118th birthday.

The fashion icon – who previously designed a signature LV logo for the luxury French label for their ‘The Icon and the Iconoclasts’ collection of handbags – also created a matching mat, boxing gloves and luggage trunk to go along with the pricey punch bag .

Just 25 of the limited edition items will be available to buy with the cost listed on the label’s website as ‘Price Upon Request’, which according to T Magazine is about $175,000.

Along with Karl, 80, designers and artists Marc Newson, Christian Louboutin, Rei Kawakubo, Cindy Sherman and Frank Gehry have all produced special pieces as part of the celebratory collection.

A holed tote was designed by Rei Kawakubo, a distorted box was produced by Marc Newson, while Christian Louboutin created a limited edition shopping caddy.
