Hidekichi Miyazaki – who holds the 100 metres world record for men aged over 100-years-old – has reportedly gotten in touch with the world’s fastest man to say, ‘Let’s rumble!’

Mr. Miyazaki – who can run the distance in 29.83 seconds compared with Bolt’s 9.58 – told The Sun newspaper: “I’d love to race Bolt. I’m keeping the dream alive.

“I try to stay in top shape and stay disciplined and healthy. That’s important for everyone – even Usain Bolt.”

The sprinter – who was born in Japan in 1910, stands at just 5ft tall and weighs in at 42kg – also revealed the secret to his longevity.

He added: “I eat my tangerine jam every day.”
