Most makeup fanatics residing in Kenya are well acquainted with the name Muthoni Njoba and if you weren’t already, you will now.

Muthoni is the creator behind the Makeup Lounge – a makeup heaven of sorts where women can have access to high-end makeup – that was recently re-launched. With only four years as a full-time makeup artist under her belt, Muthoni has managed to add some of the industry’s finest, including some of Kenya’s top magazines, runway shows and other international clients, to her portfolio. When asked, she describes her journey in the realm of makeup as “beautiful, fulfilling and successful” proving that this often misunderstood career path can be rewarding.
