African fashion authority Diana Opoti named Patron of #AFWL2014

With preparations already in full swing for the 4th edition of Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) on the 7th-9th August, the organizers of AFWL have announced that African fashion authority, Diana Opoti, will be attending the upcoming fashion week as the patron of the event.

AFWL is the biggest event of its kind in the region giving a podium to Africa’s rich ethnic culture and has played host to some of the biggest names in the fashion industry. AFWL also celebrates London’s unique and diverse cultural heritage, topped with the flamboyant mixing of Western and African culture through fashion at the same time promoting Africa’s rich ethnic culture and interpreting it into contemporary designs.

Diana Opoti is a director at Artemis Media and executive producer for the magazine format, Designing Africa, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.

With 5 years in lifestyle media, Diana Opoti is a highly respected television producer with experience at a pan-african level, both in-front and behind the camera, launching her own media house Artemis Media (K) in 2012.

Diana helps guide content and provides invaluable direction for some of Africa’s most high-profile shows on pan-African Satellite broadcaster, DSTV including The Patricia Show, Mashariki Mix and Fashion One TV.

More recently, Diana has also launched a PR and Brand Strategy agency, which focuses on the African fashion space.
