In this Relationship & Sex segment, we often share with our readers relationship advice with others, and even sometimes, interesting sex topics. But in a Capital Lifestyle Magazine first, today’s topic of choice: relationships with yourself.

Spiritually and mentally, you can have different relationships with yourself and perhaps because of these relationships or lack thereof, will determine different journeys in life.

Commercial photographer Trent Bell in early 2013 was inspired by a friend who ended up in prison to start “The REFLECT Project: Convicts’ letters to their younger selves” – a photo project that would merge large-scale portraits of inmates in the Maine prison system with handwritten letters the convicts wrote to their younger selves.

“Our bad choices can contain untold loss, remorse, and regret,” says Bell, “but the positive value of these bad choices might be immeasurable if we can face them, admit to them, learn from them and find the strength to share.”
