World Travel Awards, liken to the Oscars of the global travel industry, is celebrating its 20th year. Since 1993, WTA has been celebrating excellence across all sectors of the tourism sector.

“World Travel Awards (WTA) is coming to Kenya at the right time after a successful and peaceful general election under a new constitution. This has further raised the country’s profile as a safe destination” says Kenya Tourism Board Managing Director Muriithi Ndegwa. “That WTA has chosen Kenya for the African region ceremony as part of the world grand tour, is an endorsement of the country as a preferred tourism destination in the world,” he added.
In addition to hosting the 2013 WTA ceremony for the Africa region, Kenya has been nominated in several categories.
