Will you marry me? A Chris Wanjagi proposal

w-n-m

(By Chris Wanjagi) “I am a Web and Graphic Designer, who finds inspiration from nature and a beautiful girl called Mugure.”

That’s what my profile has read ever since I joined Behance in September 2010. Two years and many inspired projects later, I decided to take our relationship to the next level and propose. And you know us designers. Our creativity tends to overflow to many areas in our lives. So I couldn’t do the cliché restaurant proposal. I hatched up a fool proof plan to slay the love of my life and asked for help from my friends. In the end, there were a lot of tears and an ” I love you…  Yes I will marry you!”
Mugure, you truly do inspire me. This project was inspired by you and it was for you. I love you!
The Plan

I planned a photoshoot with a lot of help from Jude, the photographer and his girlfriend Sally. An hour into the shoot, our friends would pop in into the studio and surprise us. Then, with our friends present to witness, I would go down on one knee and propose. But instead of just saying the words, I will hand Mugure a wrapped gift containing framed typography art with the words “Will you Marry me?”

Enjoy the images!

———- The Poster ———-
Typography is that one thing I love, but never seem to get right. This poster took me a while to finish… I really did not have a timeline. I would propose when it was ready. I included twin hearts at the top and made our logo, M&W (Mugure and Wanjagi) which is at the bottom.
