Sankara goes Sicilian for a week

COFFEE-CREAM-IN-PASTRY

Wine appreciation is a growing trend in Nairobi culture.  In keeping with this, Sankara Nairobi is hosting a week of Sicilian wine and gastronomy, ending this weekend.

This experience includes a menu pairing by chief winemaker Alessio Planeta and master chef Angelo Pumilia from the award-winning Italian Planeta Wines.

Established in 1995, Planeta is a Sicilian wine producer built on a long agricultural tradition handed down since 1500 through 17 generations in the area between Sambuca di Sicilia and Menfi.

Planeta’s ethos call for patient and meticulous research, never hurried, and looks just as much to the past as to the future.

PLANETA-LA-SEGRETA

On the one hand, a deep bond with the oldest Sicilian wine-making tradition, with its heritage of native varieties: Grecanico, Carricante, Moscato di Noto, Frappato, Nerello Mascalese and Nero d’Avola.
