Peyronie’s Disease: I’m worried about my bent penis

Peyronies-Disease3

It’s normal for the penis to curve – slightly to the left or right – when it’s erect.

However, if the bend in your penis is causing pain, making it difficult for you to have sex, or you’ve lost penile length; then seeing a doctor would be ideal.  You never know, maybe you have Peyronie’s Disease.

What is Peyronie’s disease?

Peyronie’s disease causes the penis to become curved during erection. This disorder occurs in 1 to 3 percent of men. Of those affected, only a small amount of men require surgery or cause impotence. The condition mostly affects men over 40, although it can happen at any age. Estimates of the number of men affected vary, but one recent study suggests around 3-9% of men may have the condition.

Peyronies disease can have a strong psychological impact – especially in single men who are not in a well-established relationship.
