One of Capital FM’s fair ladies Joey Muthengi is excited about her debut on Channel O’s entertainment news segment this week.

Joey, who was chosen as one of the African music channel’s VJs last year, will host the first ONews special, which will feature some of the great things happening in African celeb-ville with focus on Kenya.

For instance, songstress Habida will be talking to Joey about her musical evolution and explain the changes in her sound; and former Big Brother contestant Hanni from Ethiopia talks about her musical journey since she left BBA.

Joey, who shot the episode last week, will also put a spotlight on Nigerian record label Mavin Records, which is responsible for talents like Wande Coal and Tiwa Savage among others.

The Kenyan feels that the ONews specials and the regular episodes will help raise the profile of African entertainment.

The ONews special will air at 10pm on Friday.
