New Apple notebook lineup revealed

(Xinhua) – Apple on Monday introduced a new notebook lineup, updating its products with latest processors as well as faster graphics and flash storage.

Available in 11-inch and 13-inch designs, the new MacBook Air features the latest Intel Core i5 and Core i7 dual-core processors, and flash storage up to four times faster than traditional hard drives, said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

Schiller introduced Apple’s new notebook lineup at the company’ s annual Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Also featuring Intel’s latest dual-core and quad-core processors, the new MacBook Pro includes a 15-inch model which has a retina display and is only 0.71 inch (1.8 cm) thin, a quarter inch thinner compared with the previous generation.

The price of MacBook Air ranges from 999 U.S. dollars to 1,499 dollars. The MacBook Pro sells from 1,199 dollars to 2,199 dollars.

Before the introduction of new products, Apple chief executive officer Tim Cook said in his keynote that Apple App Store now has more than 600,000 apps and topped 30 billion downloads. Apple has written checks totaling 5 billion dollars to developers.
