Christian Hip Hop stars to perform in Nairobi

For all you hip hop fans, a different brand of Hip Hop stars will be performing at the Mavuno Dome this Friday. The 116 Clique rap group will be making a stop over in Kenya as part of its 6-nation Africa tour.

Grammy nominated artist, Lecrae, will lead the six international rappers in their ‘Unashamed’ tour that will see the group also perform in Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Lecrae has been on the media waves recently, even becoming a twitter trend after performing on BET’s Hip Hop awards in October 2011. He has also been featured on Statik Selektah’s new album titled “Population Control”.

Other artists in the Reach Records stable include Trip Lee, Tedashii, PRo, KB and new addition Andy Mineo.

Lecrae’s album, Rehab, was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album. The album was named the Best Album of 2010 in the “Best of 2010: Rapzilla.com’s Staff picks”, and Lecrae was also named Artist of the Year. Rehab has so far sold more than 200,000 copies in the United States.

The group, which uses music as the medium to challenge people to live for God, is hoping to give their fans a treat and start an Unashamed Movement in Africa – A movement of individuals who are unashamed of living for God.
