Life’s Good, aka LG, has a new toy in the market that can record videos and take pictures in 3D.

So for a chance to (first) show off, you can snap up the LG Optimus 3D smartphone for Sh60,000 at the Junction in Nairobi, where they also – preferably cash – you can snap up the which has finally touched down in Nairobi.

If you are in the company of a plus one and your wife calls, a 3D picture of her that you saved alongside her number will NOT appear, however, as the 3D only applies to viewing content on your gallery.

“You have the option of viewing in 2D or 3D, its really up to you,” says LG Head of Marketing in East and Central Africa, George Mudhune.

He told Capital Lifestyle that the phone does not convert 2D data received from other gadgets into 3D, but rather generates 3D material of its own, include amazing video capabilities.

It is the first 3D enabled phone in the Kenyan market, and it runs on the latest Android Operating System version 2.2 (Froyo), which can be upgraded to version 2.3 and supported by the second generation dual core technology and an advanced “Tri-Dual” architecture.

In a statement, Mudhune said: “With a dual-channel configuration, data transfers take place simultaneously between the dual-core and dual-memory, resulting in faster performance.”

The LG Tri-Dual configuration encompasses dual-core, dual-channel and dual-memory, which helps you multi-task with no qualms while using the phone.

The phone was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in February, showing off the 3D experience without the need for special glasses.

Those who want to have a feel of the phone can visit LG Mobile showroom on the second floor of The Junction Mall.

With ongoing tests on 4G networks across the globe, LG’s LTE technology is expected to ultimately change the way people make calls by utilizing established network carriers to provide HD voice quality through AMR (Adaptive Multi-Rate) wideband technology, while allowing users to maintain their existing phone numbers.
