2nd Hub of Africa Fashion Week in Ethiopia

The 2nd Hub of Africa Fashion Week is scheduled to take place from December 13th to 17th 2011 at Jupiter International Hotel (Workshops) & Tropical Gardens (Fashion Show), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Organizers, Clairvoyant and In the Bag, will be bringing in designers from Liberia, Niger, Ethiopia, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Somalia, Uganda, DRC, Tanzania and South Africa as means to create synergy within the fashion industry.

The theme of this year’s Hub of Africa is Eco Fashion and will feature runway shows and workshops. This Year The Hub of Africa Fashion Week will create the awareness that designers and consumers need to pay attention to while we think about the future of fashion. As climate change continues to be the focus on Africa’s agenda, and in recognizing that poverty and economic instability could be a huge distress in the continent if various measures are not taken into consideration with regards to the environment.  The team behind Hub of Africa are urging the Fashion Industry to start thinking of sustainable ways that are environmentally conscious!

Workshops will be held on the 13th and 14th and the main fashion shows will take place on the 15th and 16th of December starting from 7.00 p.m. The last night of the 17thth will be an event mixer which will pose as a meet and greet for all the designers, invited dignitaries and the movers and shakers of the manufacturing and fashion industry in Africa.
