Safaricom livens up 7,000 party-goers

July 19, 2011 – Over 7,000 revellers thronged the Kinoru Stadium in Meru last Saturday as the acclaimed Safaricom KENYA LIVE entered the Central Kenya leg.

The live concert rocked the town known for its Miraa in a night of sizzling music from Kenya’s leading artistes.

Some of the signature performances that headlined the high profile concert included gospel maestro Allan Aaron, Jua Cali, M.O.G, Mike Rua, Nameless, Wahu and Wyre.

Also making a debut performance at the event were Central’s rising stars Ameru Crew, Flemmy, Malaika, Opus and Rilscas. The concert was also graced by Eastern’s own guest artistes Bubbah and Simbo who were picked at the Machakos concert in April.

Gates at the Kinoru Stadium opened amid heavy security at 5.30pm two hours before the performances began.

The Safaricom KENYA LIVE is a corporate countrywide series of live concerts aimed at promoting local music talent and enhancing live stage performances in Kenya’s music industry.

Already the Safaricom KENYA LIVE concerts have successfully toured a number of major towns in the country among them Bungoma, Mombasa, Kisumu and most recently Machakos.

Among the other artistes on the KENYA LIVE bandwagon are Redsan, Juliani, Phonotex Success Band, Ally B, Osogo Winyo, Eko Dydda, Ken Wa Maria and Stella Mwangi (STL).
