July 15, 2011 – Celebrating 100 years, Nivea, launched a new campaign on Friday, July 15th at InterContinental Hotel Nairobi.

International music sensation and prolific social media user, Rihanna, will be spearheading the campaign.

Rihanna, with 6 million Twitter followers, 40.5 million likes on Facebook, and not to mention breaking YouTube records every time she launches a new video; was selected as Nivea’s new brand ambassador.

“Rihanna is an iconic voice for an iconic brand,” explained Olivier Bodson, the marketing manager of BDF.

It seemed fitting that Rihanna’s hit single “California King Bed” was selected as the new soundtrack to Nivea’s television commercials, which will be airing in Kenya and across Africa.  With over 44 million YouTube views, Rihanna’s brand and presence on social media will definitely create a stronger and more emotional bond between Nivea and its customers.

Nivea will  be launching travelling road shows featuring local talent across Kenya to bring the Nivea experience to more Kenyan consumers and also to understand them more, and as a result, create more market-relevant products.

Another big announcement: Nivea users can win a trip to see Rihanna live in concert this December in London!

The winner will receive an all-expenses paid VIP trip for two to attend Rihanna’s Loud 2011 Concert in London on 1st December 2011.  To enter, buy any Nivea product, fill in the entry coupon, attach the receipt and drop it into the branded collection bin at any Naukumatt, Tuskys, Uchumi and Ukwala supermarket.

Get your ballots in before 31st August 2011!
