Meru goes LIVE this weekend

July 14, 2011 – The Safaricom KENYA LIVE music concert rocks Meru town this weekend in what promises to be a night of sizzling music from Kenya’s leading artistes.

This will be the Central province leg in a countrywide series of live concerts aimed at promoting local talent especially in regard to live music performance.

Already the Safaricom KENYA LIVE concerts have toured a number of major towns in the country among them Bungoma, Mombasa, Kisumu and most recently Machakos.

The show will be held at the Kinoru Stadium in the heart of Meru on Saturday night.

Some of the signature performances expected to headline the concert include Allan Aaron, Jua Cali, M.O.G,Mike Rua, Nameless, Wahu and  Wyre . Also making a debut performance will be Central’s rising stars Ameru Crew, Flemmy, Malaika, Opus and Rilscas.

The concert will also be graced by Eastern’s own guest artistes Bubbah and Simbo, who were picked at the Machakos concert in April.

Gates open at 5.30pm and performances kick off at 7.30pm, to run till midnight.

Entry fee is an unscratched Bamba 100 airtime card and one will need to purchase a Sh500 scratch card to get into the VIP tent.

All the artistes will perform LIVE backed by the acclaimed Altimate and Juma Tutu bands.

Among the goals of the Safaricom Kenya LIVE music property is to help local artistes develop a heavy live stage presence, a feat that will give them more international recognition and ultimately decent earnings from their trade.
