(Lulus Must Havs) June 21, 2011 – Just when you thought that Climate Change may skip over winter this year, a brisk couple of days tells us otherwise! It is getting chilly and wet! I love hot cup of cocoa with mini marshmallows in times like this…but this time, it is not going to cut it!

So, plan B, get wrapped up!

If you are a fashionista, not afraid of color and enjoy commanding attention, I have a couple of ideas for you this winter.

Berets

Berets are an ideal finish to any chic look. It has long been associated with the French, specifically their poets, artists and the French nationalism. Today, Vera Wang and Donna Karan are bringing the traditional wooly variety back in our view.

Berets frame your face, a must needed eye-catching accessory. There is a trick or two to not look goofy. One is to ensure you leave your hair down. Do not tuck your hair in the beret. Another mistake is to pull it tightly over your head. Instead, leave it slouchy and loose. Lastly, choose knit berets, they are not as stiff and will lay just perfectly.

Another hot accessory is the trendy double wrap knit scarf. Did you know the scarf originally started in Ancient Rome. At that time, scarves were used to keep the wearer clean, not warm. It was in the turn of the twentieth century that one would start to recognize the scarves we know today.

Let’s face it, scarves are versatile! With a little know how and creativity, a scarf can be whipped into a fashion trend with just a few simple knots. A scarf has the power to make or break an outfit!

One thing I will tell you, no matter how you do it, whether you are topping it off with a beret of cinching it with a scarf, always be true to your personal style!
