Ryan Philippe to quit the silver screen

June 2, 2011 – Actor Ryan Phillippe wants to throw in the towel on his acting career saying he is an introvert and needs a time-out.

Even though he’s just 36, Ryan has been in the industry for about two decades. His first role that won him serious brownie points was in American daytime drama ‘One Life to Live’ where he played a young gay man.

The actor is reported to have said: “I think I’m going to end my acting career. I’m so introverted. I’m ready to be behind the scenes.”

The sad news comes amid reports that the ‘Cruel Intentions’, and ‘Crash’ star has split up from girlfriend and actress Amanda Seyfried, after a 7-month romance.

According to ananova.com who quoted a US Weekly source, “it was mutual. They were never fully committed. They were always on and off… There’s no bad blood. They’re cool.”

The relationship first hit a rough patch in March when reports surfaced that Phillippe had fathered an unborn baby with his ex-girlfriend, model Alexis Knapp, who is due to give birth later this month.

So what next for Ryan Phillippe? It’s anyone’s guess. But at least he has three flicks lined up for release this year, namely The Bang Bang Club, What’s Your Number and The Lincoln Lawyer.
