April 4, 2011 – Noted professionals from the health and beauty industry converged on the Intercontinental Hotel this weekend for The Cosmo Galleria, a conference meant to discuss key topics on hair, plastic surgery and dermatology.
Plastic and cosmetic surgery is still a relatively new phenomenon in Kenya. However, with the growing number of middle class Kenyans, more are going under the knife.
With more money to spend, and images of slim women seen as beautiful, cosmetic surgery is definitely on the rise in Kenya.
“There is definitely an increase in the number of patients that I see,” explains Dr. Ominde Khainga (a Plastic, Cosmetic and reconstructive Surgeon).
Abdominoplasty, Liposuction and Breast Augmentation are the most popular procedures.
Dr. Pranav Pancholi, a renowned Dermatologist spoke about popular procedures like laser hair removal and laser blemish treatments. He also touched on various procedures that improve one’s complexion and treat wrinkles.
Muli Musyoka from Haco Industries spoke about a variety of issues surrounding hair. From general hair maintenance to hair weaves to proper hair relaxing to pregnancy hair issues; Musyoka enlightened the attendees with information that most have probably overlooked.
The Cosmo Galleria was definitely a welcomed conference that familiarized people about the various beauty options available in Nairobi. The beauty industry is continuously improving and creating new procedures for the sake of beauty. In fact, did you know that there’s even a procedure that can stimulate the woman’s G-spot to increase sexual arousal and help her achieve an orgasm easier? The G-shot might be the next biggest thing!
