March 30, 2011 – With the announcement of the nominees for 29 of the 32 categories in this years’ Groove Awards with Skiza, anticipation is now building towards the gala event, to be held on Saturday, 30th April 2011.

There are 2,000 tickets available for sale to the public at Ksh1, 000 each. The event, which is being billed as specially “made for TV” will be captured live.

Voting begins with the announcement of the nominees and will go on until midnight Friday, April 29, 2011. The voting platforms available for Groove Awards with Skiza this year are;
1. SMS – sending the nominees’ code to 4402
2. On the groove website – www.grooveawards.co.ke
3. Groove app on Ovi Store available on *544#.

As the voting goes on, the organizers will embark on a series of tours that will borrow heavily from last year’s activities. This years’ Groove tour is slated for the following stops.
Sunday, 10th April – Machakos
Sunday, 17th April – Nakuru
Sunday, 24th April – Mombasa

The Groove Tour with Skiza is a series of free entry, Sunday afternoon concerts, headlined mainly by the nominated artistes to activate and enhance voting especially in the different regions other than Nairobi.

Some of the categories for nominees include: Division 1 Male artist of the year, Female artist of the year, Group of the year, New artist of the year

Division II :Song of the year, Worship song of the year, Ragga/Reggae song of the year, Hiphop song of the year
