“We are very excited to have been involved in the promotion of this concert. Thirty Seconds to Mars are a world class rock trio and we are over the moon that Kenyans will get a chance to experience their music,” said Julie Scott, CEO Bunson Travel Service Ltd.

Those attending the concert will have an opportunity to experience what Cape Town, regarded as one of the most beautiful regions in the world has to offer in terms of culture and scenic beauty. The packaged trip includes a 3 days trip to Cape Town via Kenya Airways or British Airways, accommodation for 2 nights at City Lodge in Cape Town and suggested city tours.

Hinging on the success of the FIFA World Cup 2010, South Africa Tourism has embarked on an aggressive campaign to attract more visitors to the country.

‘We are very excited to note that Kenyans and South Africans share a love for music. The travel packages sold out in within a week and more enquiries are still being received,” added Ms Scott.

Cultural tourism is of key importance to South Africa and most recently, the country hosted media to the Joy of Jazz Festival in Johannesburg and the Macufe 2010 in Free State, Pretoria.

About Thirty Seconds to Mars

Thirty Seconds to Mars are a world class, arena crushing rock trio featuring Jared Leto on lead vocals/guitar, Shannon Leto on drums and Tomo Milicevic on guitar. Together they have sold over 3.5 million albums worldwide and have been viewed over 100 million times on youtube.

In 2002 they released their self titled debut album. This was followed by ‘A Beautiful Lie’ (2005) which produced two Top 5 Modern Rock singles in ‘From Yesterday’ and ‘The Kill’ which set a record for the longest running hit in the history of Modern Rock radio when it remained on the national airplay chart for more than 50 weeks following its No. 3 peak in 2006.

Their latest release ‘This is War’ (2009) has been called their strongest and most accomplished work to date spending 12 weeks on the 5FM Top 40. For this they enlisted two of the most influential producers in the world: Flood (U2, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Smashing Pumpkins) and Steve Lillywhite (U2, Rolling Stone, Peter Gabriel) who gave the band freedom and confidence to explore different sound, textures and ideas. The album represents the result of an 18 month creative battle, fought ferociously, but privately inside a studio in the Hollywood Hills. The result: a triumphant sound that builds on the vision laid out in their previous releases.

Thirty Seconds to Mars have won numerous awards including an MTV Music Video Award, three MTV EMA’s, MTV Latin, Asia and Australia Awards, a Fuse Award and three Kerrang! Awards. The band have played over 500 shows around the world including Lollapalooza in the U.S, Download in the UK, Germany’s Rock Am Ring, Japans Summer Sonic and South Africa’s My Coke Fest in 2008 with 5FM where the response from the fans was nothing less than incredible! And now, the band are excited to be back headlining their own tour.
