Lindsay Lohan dead? Blame fake Kim Kardashian

July 15, 2010 – No, Lindsay Lohan’s career isn’t dead. And neither is she.

Sorry, Wikipedia.

Here’s how Lohan got Justin Bieber’d by a death hoax:

About midnight Los Angeles time, Lohan’s Wikipedia page was edited to note that the jail-bound actress had died at age 24. No cause of “death” was listed.

From there, Twitter took over. Or maybe the tweets came first. Per an archive of Twitter posts, the earliest “Lindsay Lohan is dead?” questions popped up shortly before midnight.

Around the same time, a bogus Kim Kardashian Twitter account—note the misspelling in the ID name, “kimkardashain”—helped fuel the confusion with the post, “Omg! Is @lindsaylohan dead?! I keep hearing these rumors from my friends n stuff!! Is it true?!”

In the real world, the real Kardashian hasn’t tweeted anything about Lohan in days.

As for the real Lohan?

She is alive, working on her jail-sentence appeal and overseeing her leggings and handbag collection, a Lohan source tells E! News.

All in all, a pretty packed schedule for a “dead” woman.
