This year’s Africa Concours d’Elegance goes hi-tech thanks to the backing of the AccessKenya Group, Kenya’s first publicly listed ICT company and leading internet service provider.

Explaining the sponsorship, Kris Senanu, the Managing Director of the Internet Division of the AccessKenya Group, said, “Support for the Concours by AccessKenya will celebrate the completion of our local fibre optic cable and the advantages this brings to the Company’s about 5000 corporate and residential clients.”

“The benefits resulting from the fibre optic cable will be demonstrated in the hi-tech AccessKenya’s IT world exhibition area located at the sponsors ground at the main Racecourse entrance adjacent to the motorcycle judging area.”

The AccessKenya exhibition will also feature the Company’s internet and IT services including, Access@Home, Access IT and @Home in Kenya web portal.

“Thanks to our sponsorship the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance 2009 will have a hi-tech feel to it in various aspects including real-time results service, a digital media centre among other enhancements. Shortly after the publication of the results of each car and motorcycle class they will be displayed on screens at strategic places around the Racecourse.”

“The Concours website (www.concourskenya.com) and a press centre near the AccessKenya exhibit will receive a constant flow of results. Reporters will be able to file their stories real time from the press facility using the huge internet capacity and fast speeds provided by AccessKenya thanks to our fibre optic technology,” added Kris Senanu.

“We are grateful to our co-sponsors for the role they will play in the event. Cadbury Kenya Limited will bring the children’s entertainment centre to a new level. CISCO will be exhibiting their expertise in networking IT solutions and Bean display their wireless technologies through Bluetooth.”

“Resolution health will brighten the sponsors show ground with their exhibit and will have an additional first aid point to support the St. John Ambulance service. Total Kenya are providing the superb inspection ramp at the start of the car judging line in front of the Racecourse grandstands,” concluded Kris Senanu.
