NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 5 – Pan African telecom enabler, SEACOM has hired Tonny Tugee as the company’s head of regional sales in the newly created Business unit in Kenya.
Tugee leaves Safaricom where he was the Head of Enterprise Sales and Retention to manage the Kenya Business where he will be mandated to drive uptake of SEACOMs connectivity and cloud services across the region.
SEACOM Chief Executive Byron Clatterbuck has said Tugee’s appointment comes in line with the firms’ strategy to drive its expansion across Africa.
“SEACOM Business will deliver fast, reliable connectivity and high-quality cloud services to Kenyan organizations,” he said. “Mr. Tugee has the intimate knowledge of the Kenyan telecom market and the leadership skills we require to deliver the exceptional customer experience that East African enterprises deserve from their telecom partners.”
At Safaricom, Tugee held the role of leading the enterprise sales and retention team charged with growing and retaining revenues in the business-to-business, business-to-government and wholesale/carrier environment.
As SEACOM’s Head of Sales for Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, Tugee will have strategic and operational sales oversight over SEACOM’s business across East Africa.
SEACOM is a supplier for African enterprises, network carriers and service providers, offering a full suite of data services and a vast supply of Internet bandwidth to Africa’s growing ICT community.
