NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 30 – The tourism sector is expected to improve significantly in the next four months following a peaceful General Election. With the upturn of the sector, more jobs are expected to be created, outpacing other sectors of the economy.
According to a study conducted by Data Fintech, the median salary of employees in tourism and travel activities increased by 16.8 percent at Sh45,750, between May and June 2017.
On the same positive trend, hospitality/leisure job creation remains high with an average of 50 jobs created in the market place between May and June 2017. These employees include chef’s waiter’s waitresses, porters etc.
