NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 14 – The much anticipated Two Rivers Mall has opened its doors to the public today making it the biggest mall in Africa outside of South Africa.

Set on 11 acres between Limuru road and the Northern bypass, the mall hosts nearly 200 stores including international retailers and reknown brands such as LC Waikiki, Swarovski and Zara.

In addition to an extensive retail offering, Two Rivers also provides an unparalleled outdoor entertainment experience, with one of the many stand out features of the destination being its unique riverfront incorporating fountains and laser shows.

Centum’s Real Estate Commercial Director James Karoki says the mall’s aqua park will be a key attraction, especially during the weekends.

“We have got a lot of events happening from today and in the coming days. We have got lots of chocolate fountains and flowers for the ladies to mark the opening on this special day. On Friday (17th), we have a corporate event to say thank you to our partners, tenants and investors,” says Karoki.

Two Rivers’ opening, including ballerinas, orchestra performances and African drummers whilst a host of celebrated DJs will also be on hand to keep shoppers entertained.

On Saturday 18th, visitors can look forward to an amazing line-up of performances including Eric Omondi, Churchill, Nameless and Wahu, and Kenya’s very own award winning and critically acclaimed Sauti Sol.

With 27 diverse restaurants, two supermarkets – Chandarana Food Plus and Carrefour –  and banking halls, the mall expects to create employment for close to 1000 people.

Karoki says the mall has attracted an ideal mix of international and local tenants, including new local brands such as Nove Coffee Roasters and The Designer Studio.

Movement through the expansive mall is ensured with its 18 escalators, 14 lifts and 4 autowalks while shoppers are assured of ample parking with over 2,000 parking bays available.
