NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 16- Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) has launched a new Ready to Drink (RTD) alcoholic beverage under the Smirnoff flagship brand, adding energy to the already growing consumer segment.

The Smirnoff Ice Electric Ginseng, is a departure from other RTD’s as it will target male consumers – who have not been drawn to existing RTD’s segment.

It is also the first alcoholic drink in Kenya that contains Ginseng, an exotic herb that has for long been used in Asian food- and- drink culture, giving it a unique, bold taste unlike any other.

“Smirnoff first launched the vodka-based RTD’s in Kenya four years ago with the Smirnoff Red and Black Ice- packaged in clear returnable bottles. In the recent years, it has launched the already successful Smirnoff Ice Double Black with Guarana offered in a can,” the company said.

Smirnoff Ice Electric Ginseng is packaged in 330 milliliters black cans with silver, blue and orange accents with a recommended price of Sh140.

“Fun loving consumers will blend in well with this light blue drink that bespeaks of class and status when poured in a transparent wine glass and sipped on in the company of friends,” KBL said.

The Ginseng in it gives the aura of power and verve that is reminiscent of an active persona.
