, NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 2 – Mahindra Limited has introduced the Automatic variant of the New Age XUV500 into the Kenyan market.

The new range of vehicles comes in two options namely the W8 FWD and W10AWD.

The 6-speed Automatic Transmission model comes with features that include a fully Automatic Gearbox, optimized gear ratios and intelligent adaptation to terrains and altitudes.

Also, it comes with automatic transmission with All Wheel Drive (AWD) which is for the Adventure seekers.

According to Mahindra, the AWD ensures that the vehicle torque is suitably distributed between the wheels to provide the best traction on rugged or slippery roads, by sensing the difference in RPM between the front and rear wheels.

Dr Pawan Goenka Executive Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited explained that the new range has winning combination of aspirational styling, advanced technology, safety features, comfort and convenience.

“The XUV500 has created a niche for itself since its launch and has been a game changer in the premium SUV segment,” he said.

“The range has in fact become one of the fastest selling SUVs to reach the 150,000 vehicles sales milestone in just 4 years. At Mahindra, it has been our constant endeavour to offer advanced and accessible technologies to our customers,” he added.

The W8 FWD will retail at Sh3.45million and will be available across Mahindra Dealerships in the country starting June 4th.

Adil Popat, CEO Simba Corporation at the same time explained that the XUV 500 Automatic with its numerous features and competitive pricing is a great package. “We are confident that it will be well accepted in Kenya and will be a game changer for Mahindra’s automotive operations in the country,” he said.

The introduction of the new range of vehicles coincided with the opening of Mahindra’s regional office in Nairobi.
