NAIROBI, Kenya, May 8 – Nakumatt has indefinitely suspended operations at its Ukay branch following rains that caused heavy flooding in the premises.

In a statement, Nakumatt Holding Regional Operations and Strategy Director Thiagarajan Ramamurthy confirmed that the temporary closure will allow the premises owners and other stakeholders who are on-site to assess the situation.

Following the closure of the Nakumatt Ukay, which previously operated on a round the clock basis, at the Ukay Centre Ground and Mezzanine floors, Ramamurthy announced the Nakumatt Highridge Supermarket will operate on a 24-hour basis.

The retail chain management has further adjusted the operating times at Nakumatt Westgate in order to meet the immediate customer needs within the Westlands, Parklands Business districts and their environs.

Customers at Nakumatt Westgate will enjoy an extended opening hour regime, with a daily branch opening at 7am and closing at midnight, with immediate effect.
