Samuel Kariuki appointed Centum Investment CFO

SAMUEL-KARIUKINAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 11 – Centum Investment Company has appointed Samuel Kariuki as the Group Chief Finance Officer effective February 15, 2016.

Kariuki take over from Risper Mukoto who was appointed Managing Director of Centum Business Solutions Limited in 2015 and also served as the Group Finance Officer.

Centum Business Solutions Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Centum Investment Company that provides integrated shared services to Centum and its subsidiaries.

With Over 10 years experience in the financial services sector, Kariuki joins Centum from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Rwanda where he served as an Associate Director since 2010.

“At Centum Kariuki will provide oversight for the Group’s Finance, Fundraising , Treasury and Technology functions as well as supporting the Centum Capital team in investment structuring,” said Centum Investment CEO James Mworia.

Kariuki comes in at a time when the firm is undertaking major projects that include the Two Rivers Development Project.

The project, which is touted to be the biggest shopping and lifestyle development in East and Central Africa, is located within a 102 acres piece of land in Nairobi’s diplomatic blue zone, Limuru road.

The project recently received the Vision 2030 flagship status partly due its sustainable approach to resource usage setting a new precedence in the region.

Centum is also working on the construction of the 980 Megawatts coal project in Lamu.

The coal power plant will be the largest private sector-led infrastructure project in East and Central Africa.
