Gina Din bags prestigious East Africa’s Business award

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 20- Gina Din Corporate Communications founder and chair Gina Din-Kariuki, is this year’s CNBC Business Woman of the Year East Africa, after winning in Africa’s All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA) 2015.

All Africa Business Leaders is an annual award ceremony that recognizes and appreciates top business leaders in Africa.

CNBC Africa and Forbes Africa a subsidiary of the ABN Group, partner with AABLA in hosting the event.

Making the announcement at the gala dinner held at a Nairobi hotel on Saturday, Roberta Naicker the Managing Director of Africa Business News (ABN) said the awards honour remarkable leadership and continued commitment to excellence, development of best practices and innovative strategies in Africa.

“CNBC Africa is proud to continue the tradition established by these awards that define and celebrate the vision, spirit of achievement and excellence in business leadership within Africa,” Naicker said.

The awards distinguish and honour leaders who have contributed and shaped the African economy, and are visionaries behind today’s outstanding businesses.

Gina Din, is also the Director at Erin Energy Kenya, which has four oil blocks in Kenya and is listed on New York Stock Exchange with headquarters in Houston, Texas.

“My award is dedicated to the faceless and nameless women across the continents who work extremely hard with no recognition,” Gina Din said while accepting the award.

Other winners include the Tanzanian businessman, Mohammed Dewji, Group CEO of MeTL Group who received the newly added Philanthropist of the Year – East Africa award.
