Speaking at the weekend, Governor Alfred Mutua stated that donor agencies, embassies, non-governmental and development organisations have been invited.
He pointed out that the agencies will partner with his government to fight poverty and spur development in the county and neighbouring regions.
“That’s why I humbly invite you to come for a conversation with me so that we can share how my government can improve services and projects for our people,” he said.
The one day symposium will be held at the Machakos People’s Park.
Mutua stated that that already, his government has launched a Sh2.5 billion water program that will enable residents at the village level have piped clean water.
He gave the assurance that Machakos was ready to be a pilot for the projects and research of development partners that improves the welfare of the people.
“My county will create a conducive environment for your success and our people come first,” he said.
