28 more stores open at Garden City Mall

Twenty-eight more stores including the global fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), and premier electronic supplier, Hot Point Appliances, have opened at Garden City Mall in the past week.

Welcoming the new entrants, Garden City development director Michael Kingslott said KFC and several other high profile stores have opened at the Garden City Mall.

“Addition of these eateries, unique retailers and enhanced amenities within the mall will provide our shoppers with more choices and unique experience when they visit the Mall.”

Other shops that have opened within the past weeks include Vivo, Phone link, Innscor, Galito’s, Power Innovations, Junction Forex Bureau, Accessorize with Style, Wide Shoe Selection, N3milles, Mint Leaf, Dichotomy, Woolworths, Q Pharm, Chelsea Beautique, Venture House, Sunshine Baby, Manix, Auto Express, Healthy U 2000, Nairobi Sports House, CHAPA Copy, Leo’s, Bikes & Sports, Koreana Chicken, Chase Bank and Safaricom.

Once completed, the first phase of the Mall will consist of 33,000 square metres of retail space including 120 local and international brands spread across three levels, with the first floor anchored by Game, the flagship store in Kenya for this retail giant which is part of the Walmart Group, alongside Nakumatt supermarket, Tile & Carpet, and Victoria Courts; which opened on May 28 amongst other shops.

Shoppers from CBD can access the Mall through the overpass at the Garden Estate interchange at Exit 7, while those coming from Thika can use Exit 8 and then branch left into the new service road which cuts through Willmary Estate, adjacent to the mall.

Garden City is the first development of its kind in East Africa, incorporating retail, residential and office space into one integrated design. Phase one of the project includes 76 sold-out two and three bedroom apartments and duplexes, soon to welcome the first wave of tenants and owners into their new homes.

Development of the second phase of the project includes additional residential and retail space (transforming it into a 50,000 square metre Mall), a business hotel, and more than 25,000 square metres of office space.
