Microsoft mobile division has announced a new range of Lumia phones comprising Lumia 640, Lumia 640XL and the most affordable device, the Lumia 430 Dual SIM.

The new Lumia devices were launched under the banner of a new consumer campaign dubbed #AchieveMore, which seeks to inspire users to increase their productivity by doing more with their Lumia phones, whether at work or at home.

The Lumia 640 and 640XL become the latest LTE / 4G smart devices to join the Lumia portfolio in Kenya and will retail at Sh19,999 and Sh25,750 respectively.

“People around the world have responded enthusiastically to our affordable Lumia range. We continue to invest in this segment to ensure that as many consumers as possible can enjoy signature Microsoft experiences, regardless of budget,” said Mariam Abdullahi, Microsoft General Manager for East Africa.

The Lumia 640 and 640XL are 4G-ready and come bundled with OneDrive storage powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Both devices will upgrade to and benefit from Windows 10 as it becomes available later this year.

The onboard 1GB of memory allows users to store documents and media content. You can also view photos and watch videos on a crisp 5.7” HD display on both devices as you capture detail rich photos even in low light, thanks to the 13 MP camera on the Lumia 640 XL with LED flash and an 8 MP camera on the Lumia 640, also with an LED flash.

What’s more, you can stay updated on the most important information with Glance Screen, available on the Lumia 640 XL and enjoy Windows Phone 8.1 and the Lumia Denim update, complete with one-swipe Action Center, Word Flow and Live Folders on both devices.
