Battery manufacturer Chloride Exide, has launched an App dedicated to maintenance free batteries.  The PowerLast App is available free of charge on Google play store using Android mobile phones.

The App went live at a function held for dealers by Chloride Exide. Speaking at the event, David Kinuthia, the Company’s Battery Sales Manager, said the app will ensure the company’s products are visible on the digital platform.

“Our PowerLast App will help us to interact directly with our customers. The App features the Chloride Exide “Dial a Battery”mobile service to deliver batteries by motorcycle to stranded motorists quickly within Nairobi and its environs.  This provides customers with a seven day from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.  battery assistance service,” said Kinuthia.

Kinuthia added that Associated Battery Manufacturers (ABM) Limited is the first in East, Central and Southern Africa to make 100 per cent maintenance free batteries.

“At a click of a button on the App, motorists will be able to locate the Company’s dealers, the closest service stations and ATM machines.  It also hastraffic updates and motoring safety tips, notifications of the date for car service and battery checks, insurance and driving licence renewals,” said Kinuthia.

Under the brand name PowerLast, these batteries are manufactured at the Company’s ISO 9001 certified production plant in Kampala Road Industrial Area in Nairobi.  They are distributed by Chloride Exide which has a countrywide dealer network with branches in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

“For the past 50 years we have been manufacturing high quality batteries.  The production of the Chloride Exide PowerLast MF proves that we produce batteries which conform to international standards,” said Guy Jack, the Managing Director of ABM.
