NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 4 – AccessKenya has appointed Kris Senanu as Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

He will have a dual role as he will retain his current position of Managing Director of AccessKenya’s Internet business.

His added responsibilities will include driving AccessKenya’s go-to-market strategy and the company’s regional expansion.

“Senanu has great experience and skills to lead this expansion. Our goal is to maintain our position as the leading provider of Corporate Internet and IT Solutions as we push forward with our strategic growth,” AccessKenya’s Group Managing Director Jonathan Somen and CEO said.

Senanu has over 20 years experience in the telecommunications and Internet service industry, of which the last 13 years have been with AccessKenya.

In August 2013, AccessKenya was acquired by Dimension Data, the USD5.8 billion (Sh501billion) global solutions and services provider, for Sh3.052 billion.

At the time, Dimension Data said that the acquisition of AccessKenya was in line with Dimension Data’s goal to pursue a strategy of expansion in sub-Saharan Africa.

“In addition to reviewing and evaluating the market for suitable opportunities that can enhance our business model; we are looking at new products to meet customer demand. We are also extending our fibre cable in Nairobi and the city limits, as well as in the Northern and Southern Coast of Kenya,” Somen commented.

The network rollout includes wireless service expansion throughout the country which is expected to bring 15 new Counties onto AccessKenya’s wireless, metro and national fibre infrastructure this year.
