NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 12 – Over 700 African and international Chief Executive Officers, financiers and business leaders are expected in the second Africa CEO Forum from March 17 to 19.

The forum aims to deepen economic integration and development at a time when there is heightened scramble for the continent’s unexploited economic potential.

The three day event to be held in Geneva is organised by Groupe Jeune Afrique in partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB).

Since its inception in 2012, the Africa CEO Forum has brought English and French speaking leading economic players together to facilitate local exchange development, enhance and support African entrepreneurship and promote public-private dialogue to build a foundation which would encourage growth of new activities.

The main themes for the forum include Africa’s competitiveness enhancement, the place for African companies in major construction projects, the Africapitalism paradigm, and the digital revolution.

To complement these four plenary conferences, eight knowledge sessions will attempt to address more concretely the trends in company management and strategies to encourage its growth: agribusiness, extractive industries, and capital partnerships.

“These topics prove to be very relevant to businessmen and investors who wish to think ‘out of the box’. The format relies on the tremendous experience of iconic CEOs and experts who will propose significant strategies in regards to the company management and identify key growth drivers in different sectors,” President of the Africa CEO Forum, Amir Ben Yahmed said.

Leading figures who will attend the event include: CEO of Safaricom Bob Collymore, President of Mo Ibrahim Foundation Mo Ibrahim, Chairman of Econet Wireless, Strive Masiyiwa, CEO of Mara Group Ashish Thakkar, Delegate Director of Danone Emmanuel Faber, CEO of Maroc Telecom Abdeslam Ahizoune, CEO of Shoreline Energy International Kola Karim, as well as CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Tewolde Gebremariam.

Developed in partnership with the African Development Bank, Africa CEO Forum is an event organised by Groupe Jeune Afrique, publisher of Jeune Afrique and The Africa Report and Rainbow Unlimited, a Swiss company specialised in planning economic promotion events and manager of the SABC (Swiss African Business Circle).
