NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 6 – Resolution Insurance has launched a new product dubbed Hakika Plans that offers variety and more affordable options for its members.
Resolution Insurance Chief Executive Officer Peter Nduati says the Hakika Plans target individuals and families; self-employed persons, Small and Medium Enterprises and persons in counties in regions away from cities.
Nduati says the product is a response to market demand for affordability for medical plans that finances the basic medical care for the insurer’s growing medical products portfolio.
He says the product is projected to bring in Sh500,000 yearly and will greatly improve the company’s portfolio.
The Hakika Plans have many benefits which include maternity, psychiatry, HIV/Aids and declared pre-existing conditions, chronic conditions, congenital cover, organ transplant and emergency evacuation and ambulance.
“The introduction of the new suite of products offer and enhancements to existing plans demonstrates our flexibility and commitment to providing members access to health products that are tailor-made to their needs and preferences,” said Nduati.
The line-up of other enhanced benefits in the medical insurance products was also presented including inclusion of dental illness in in-patient non shared plans, extension of lodger fee to older children from six years to 10 years and reduced waiting periods for illness from 60 days to 30 days.
“The new product offers our clients lower-cost health benefit protection that can meet a wide-range of needs to more age categories and a wide-range of covers,” he added.
The company also introduced a Smart Card for its members in bid to increase efficiency in managing benefits, congenital cover including new born babies (38 weeks) can now join from birth and harmony Plans with annual limits shared per family to more age categories.
Last year, Resolution Insurance unveiled innovative Travel Insurance Plans which is a complete online solution.
Nduati introduced the new products while speaking in Nairobi during the Annual Brokers Conference 2014 for where top-performing brokers were feted.
