Waititu elaborates how implementation of SAP’s system at the Kenya Ports Authority has reduced the number of days in takes to clear consignments at the port.

“It used to take two weeks to clear cargo but it now takes 48 hours and we are working on reducing that further to 27 hours by end of this year. You can imagine the effect that will have on the rest of the region that depends on the Mombasa port.”

He adds that SAP has been collecting information over time and is now offering clients various options of accessing real-time data for easier and faster decision making through mobile and cloud solutions.
