NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 9 – Samsung Electronics East Africa has opened its seventh brand store at Nairobi’s Galleria Mall.

Samsung has been progressively developing fully fledged brand shops housed in leading shopping malls including Junction, Westgate, Thika Road Mall, Ridgeways Mall, Tom Mboya Street (Ambassadeur House) and at Nyali Mall (Mombasa) as part of a strategic retail development strategy valued at more than Sh86 million.

Speaking during the opening of the new Samsung Galleria Mall Brand Shop, Samsung Electronics East Africa Chief Operating Officer Robert Ngeru disclosed that the firm is also developing three more brand shops to be opened in Nairobi’s Central Business District, Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret in coming months.

The Samsung brand shops, Ngeru explained, have been tastefully developed to act as service centres for the firm’s range of Mobile, IT and Consumer Electronic products.

The Samsung brand shops operated by well trained staff have also been developed to serve as shopping hubs for customers to access genuine Samsung products and accessories backed by the firm’s signature two year warranty.

“The idea behind our brand stores is to change a dull retail shopping trip into an interactive, cheerful experience- which is now known as retail-tainment which is the future of shopping,” Ngeru said.

“Our retail development strategy is anchored on a commitment to ensure that we are within the reach of our growing customer base. To meet this commitment, we are actively developing branded Shops, Mobile Plazas and Service Centers.”

At the same time, Samsung Electronics East Africa is also actively developing its retail sales capacity through an on-going skills transfer and training programme.

The programme is geared at raising the human resource capacity of Samsung dealers and distributors.

The opening of the Samsung brand shop also comes hot on the heels of the company unveiling of premium products including the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 8.0, Galaxy Grand duos and smart cameras among other products.
