Addressing a public rally at Sigor trading centre on Wednesday, the PM said he had already sourced other investors from Japan who will soon be commissioned to build the factory in the area and help create job opportunities for local youths.
He said it was unfortunate that such an important investment had been frustrated by dishonest dealings and gave an assurance that no such thing will befall the new investment.
“I have talked to some Japanese investors about this project and the prospects are bright,” he added.
Odinga at the same time announced that construction work on Marigat-Loruk-Tot-Marich road that links West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet and Baringo Counties will begin in the next financial year.
“Once completed this road will further open up and help develop the economies of the three counties,” he added.
The PM reiterated that the Kitale-Lodwar-Nadapal-Juba road will also be rebuilt to enhance trade between Kenya and South Sudan.
The PM who is the CORD presidential candidate said the alliance had formulated the best economic blue print to develop West Pokot and other marginalized counties to bring them at the same level with other regions in the country.
The PM made it clear that CORD will implement the Constitution to the letter to address the historical injustices that have been visited on the country since independence.
On education Odinga pledged that the CORD government will provide free education from nursery to secondary school level saying his government will foot the cost of books, uniforms and all other school levies.
Regional Development Minister Fred Gumo and the immediate former MP for Kangundo Johnson Muthama also spoke at the rally.
Others were immediate former MPs for Kapenguria and Sigor Julius Murgor and Wilson Litole respectively.
Murgor is seeking the West Pokot County senatorial seat while Litole is defending his seat on an ODM ticket.
