Oduor-Otieno was the Chief Executive officer of Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) from 2007 until January this year.
“Dr Oduor-Otieno brings on board a wealth of financial expertise and management experience in both public and private sectors,” the EABL board chairman Charles Muchene said in a statement.
Oduor-Otieno has previously worked with Barclays Bank and British American Tobacco before joining KCB in October 2005 as Deputy Chief Executive, and later becoming the CEO in May 2007.
He has also served as Permanent Secretary in Kenya’s Ministry of Finance.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi, an Executive MBA degree from the ESAMI/Maastricht Business School, and is a Fellow of both the Kenya Institute of Bankers and Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
“Oduor-Otieno has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Business Leadership degree by KCA University and the National Recognition of the First Class Order of the Chief of the Burning Spear (CBS) by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya for his contribution to national development,” EABL added.
Consequently, Seni Adetu, former CEO and Group Managing Director of EABL, has relinquished his position from the board.
