What its Barclays PingIt?

1. What is Barclays Pingit?
Barclays Pingit is the new service from Barclays that allows you to send and receive money using just a mobile phone number. You will need to register to send or receive payments using Barclays Pingit. As phase 1 , we will only be able to receive funds via Pingit
2. How does Barclays Pingit work in relation to Kenya?
This will allow any BBK customer to receive money from any UK bank . The whole process is dependent on a mobile number and thus one will need to be registered on Hello Money so as to receive the funds.
Your mobile number will be linked to your account details so that other users can pay you using just your mobile number.
When someone sends you a payment, you’ll receive a text message confirming the payment has been made. The payment will also appear on your current account statement in the format Barclays Pingit –(mobile number of payee) –(amount received).
If you are registered for Barclays Pingit, when you receive a payment your full registered name will be made visible to the sender of the payment.
3. How do I register for the service?
All customers registered on Hello Money will be automatically eligible to receive funds via Pingit
4. Are there any limits to the amount of money I can receive on Barclays Pingit?
One can receive up-to a maximum of Kes100,000 on a daily basis
5. How can my relative send me money to Kenya from the UK via Barclays Pingit?
Anyone with a mobile phone can use Barclays Pingit. However, for the person to send money they must have a web-enabled Smartphone running Android 2.2 and above, iOS4.2 and above or BlackBerry OS 4.6 and above.
6. Who can send me money from UK?
Anyone with a mobile phone (registered in the UK) and a UK bank account in any bank can use Barclays Pingit to send funds to BBK.
However, for them to send money, they must have a web-enabled Smartphone running Android 2.2 and above, iOS4.2 and above or BlackBerry OS 4.6 and above.
